One of the most exciting bets in football is the parlay. With a parlay you are picking two teams against the spread and if they both win, you win big. A typical single game bet pays on odds of -110. A typical two team parlay can pay 13/5 odds, over 2.5-to-1. For this reason, parlays are one of the more popular betting options in football.

When we evaluate all of the teams in the NFL, we are not only looking to make short-term NFL picks and parlays. We bring you the best selections and value for NFL futures as well. Long term value bets can be exciting and profitable if placed with the best odds. The parlay is an incredibly popular way to bet on NFL games while increasing your potential payout at the end of the day. Instead of betting on the outcome of a single game or event, you’re now betting on two.

Of course, they aren’t easy which is why the odds are so good. The more teams you pick, the better the odds get because the difficulty rises. Winning parlays is hard, but we’re here to help with that.

Betting parlays online is extremely important. You may have betting via your local government or something like that but the odds are much better online. Some sportsbooks even offer particular parlay bonuses depending on how many you add to it.

We’ll also show you how to bet parlays as well as where to bet them. Let’s get into it.

Where To Bet NFL Parlays:

America: Parlays are as big a part of football as the ball and Bovada has you covered all NFL season long. They make it very easy to see how much return you are going to get.

Everywhere Else: You can get parlays at Mr Green, only they are called “Multiples”. For more on this, see below. Also it is vitally important that you look into Bet365 for parlays. It’s based on the amount of teams you bet in a parlay or options you bet. So a 5-fold parlay gets you a 15% bonus, while a 9-fold gets you a 35% bonus etc.

Canada: Sports Interaction has you covered for every NFL need you have and that includes parlays. They’re worth having an account at along with Bet365.

A parlay is also known as an accumulator or combo bet because it’s one bet that relies on multiple results. For example, you could parlay the Patriots -7 and the Patriots/Jets Over 54.5 points. If both of those things hit, you win. If the Patriots cover, but the combined score is only 53 – you lose.

Both ends need to hit. You can do a two team parlay which is typically 13/5 odds all the way up to an 12-team parlay. The odds of course differ on what you are doing depending on the parlay you are making.

A couple of examples if we bet $100 on the following point spread parlays:

5 team: $100 returns $2500
8 Team: $100 returns $17,500

Adding in higher odds picks also increases the return. For example if we did two point spread picks in a two team parlay, $100 returns $250. However if you then add in an underdog at say +325 odds, that 3 team parlay is now $100 to return $1550.

Common NFL Parlay Questions:

Are parlays a good deal?

How

Yes and no. Betting on two games and winning both of those games will pay you less as you are just getting 1.1:1 odds, basically. If you take those same two games and parlay them, you get paid 2.6:1 which is a lot nicer payday.

Of course, if we assume a 50/50 chance of winning both games then the “true” odds would be 3:1 not 2.6:1 so the sportsbook are still making out on you.

If you’re a serious gambler and want to do this for a living it’s smarter to stay away from parlays and grind it out. However if you are betting casually – go for it. Who doesn’t want to risk $5 to return $250, or $20 to return $4500? Yeah the odds are small and you may lose in the long term but you’d probably blow that money anyway. Have some fun.

How To Bet NFL Parlays:

Bovada: Go to the sportsbook list of NFL games and select the games you’d like to parlay. From there, they will be added to your bet slip and you can select “Parlay” below them to parlay the games.

Sports Interaction: Click on all the games you are interested in parlaying and they will be added to your bet slip. Click “COMBINATION” and you’ll be able to parlay those games.

Mr Green: Select the games you want and add them to your bet slip. At the top of the slip you will see “Singles” and “Multiples” Select multiples to parlay those games.

NFL Parlay Betting Strategy:

I try to look for plays that have some sort of correlation. A good example would be a game where you like one team to cover the spread, but in order to cover the spread this game is going to have to go over. That is a great place for a two-team parlay.

Another great way to do parlays is when a sportsbook gives you a free play. Since this is free money that you can’t withdraw, you are best making a parlay that could pay big.

A NFL parlay or accumulator is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers and is dependent on all of those wagers winning together. Many experienced bettors will joke and say the parlay is French for “loser”. Many professional sports bettors will stay away from parlays due to the fact that the odds of hitting parlays are substantially less than what should be paid for these very hard bets. NFL parlay bets are paid out at odds higher than the typical single game bet, but still below the odds. For instance, a common 2-team parlay might have a payout of 13:5 if both picks are correct. In reality, however, if one assumes that each single game bet is a coin flip and would be expected to pay out at 1:1, the true payout should instead be 3:1, a substantial difference.

Now one has to take into account that the true parlay odds on a 2 team parlay at -110 (standard vigorish) is +264 roughly right around 13:5 so most bookmakers do offer fair odds on 2 and 3 team parlays. Once you get over the 3 team parlay is when the bookmakers start to juice the odds against the player. For more on this see our 4 team parlay article.

I will outline an example below of a traditional parlay bet; you place a three-team NFL parlay on the Giants -3, Eagles +7, and Dolphins +4, If any one of those teams fail to cover the spread, then you lose the parlay bet. But if all three teams cover the point spread in their games, then you will win somewhere in the area of 6:1, which means you would win $600 for every $100 that you bet. If you push on one of those picks, you then have a two-team parlay and the odds would revert to the bookmakers current 2 team parlay odds. If you push on two picks, you would then have a straight bet.

Parlays are a bet that most professional gamblers will not even sniff at. You can make much more money betting each NFL game by itself and not have an entire bet ruined by just one game. For instance if you were to bet $100 each on four games instead of betting $400 on a four team parlay, your odds to make money on your bet would be substantially increased. If you were to win three out of the four games, you end up with roughly a 50% on your bets, however, if put into a parlay winning three out of four ats gets you absolutely nothing besides maybe a stomachache for coming so close but falling short.

Now with that being said, pro gamblers haven’t completely removed the parlay bet from their arsenal. There are 2 situations when a professional sports bettor will consider a NFL parlay as high as 3 teams. First they will never go over a 3 team parlay since that is the cutoff point at which bookmakers are still offering objective odds. The primary reason when a professional gambler would consider a parlay would be if both of the bets are dependent on one another. Meaning if this outcome happens then this outcome is also likely to happen. These types of sports bets are called correlated parlays. You can read more about these profitable types of bets in full detail here. Correlated parlays are considered the homerun type bet that bookmakers fear the most.

The other setting where a professional sports bettor will bet a parlay is when they are trying to circumvent the betting limits. Let’s say the opening numbers come out and he sees 2 games he likes and knows the numbers are going to move but the betting limits are only $500. This bettor normally bets $1000 per game. Because sportsbooks normally don’t have limits on parlays, a pro may make a $2000 parlay bet on those 2 games to make sure he gets down as much as he normally does. By placing this parlay wager the player is guaranteed his normal stake on a game before the odds move thus making a parlay bet attractive.
To be honest over the course of one’s life there will be a few parlays that you hit here and there, however betting NFL parlays with more than 3 teams is not a wise way to make money in the long run. The reason that bookies and bookmakers still exist is because of people betting parlays and ending up just one game short. The bookmakers increase their profits on the bets, and that is why a lot of the times it is promoted on a gambling website or at the casino sports book. Rule of thumb is that if the bookmaker is offering you something too good to be true (i.e. return on bet) than it usually is. Be a smart sports bettor when it comes to NFL parlays.
