How Soccer Betting Works
Posted : admin On 4/6/2022Soccer is the world’s game. It is played in more countries around the globe than any other sport. Soccer betting is extremely popular around the world and we want to teach you the ways to bet on soccer.
When it comes to betting on soccer, it’s a bit different than betting on the NFL or the NBA. While there are some similarities with betting on other sports, there are some distinct differences.
Here is what you need to know in order to start betting on soccer.
Goal Spread Soccer Betting. Goal spread soccer betting is where there is a line put on a specific soccer game. It works similar to any other point spread bet in basketball or football, and is very common in World Cup games. This goal spread is set up to give better odds on a team who is a heavy favorite. The Colts are the underdogs, so backing them means the potential for higher payouts relative to the amount staked. The odds of +155 mean that every $1 staked stands to win $1.55 if the Colts win (i.e. A $100 wager stands to win $155 if the Colts win). Again, initial stakes are also returned.
Soccer Betting – Win, Lose or Draw
When betting on the NBA or college football for example, ties are not possible. In the NFL, ties are extremely rare. In soccer, scoring is not as high as other sports. As a result, bettors will see three options for soccer moneyline bets.
The three-way moneyline gives bettors three options from which to choose. You can bet on a team to win and since there are so many ties in soccer, you can bet on the teams to draw.
The three options are:
Team A Wins or Team B Wins or Team A and Team B Draw
Here are the odds from a recent soccer match:
Team A +130 / Team B +250 / Draw +220
If you bet $100 on Team A to win and they do, you win $130. If you bet on the two teams to draw, your $100 bet would win $220.
Draw No Bet and Double Chance Soccer Bets
There is also the two-way moneyline in soccer betting.
It is offered in two ways: Double Chance and Draw No Bet.
Double Chance means you are betting on two outcomes. You bet on a team to either win or draw or you bet on either team to win.
The potential results are:
Team A Wins or Draws / Team B Wins or Draws / Team A Wins or Team B Wins
The Two-Way, Double Chance moneyline would like this:
Team A/Draw -205 / Team B/Draw -185 / Team A/Team B -200
The Draw No Bet market eliminates the draw as a choice. There are only two possible results.
An example would look like this:
Team A Wins +150 or Team B Wins –200
How To Always Win On Soccer Betting
If the match ends in a draw then the bets on this market would be refunded.
Betting Soccer Spreads – Asian Handicaps
Betting goal lines is very similar to betting puck lines in hockey and is as close to soccer comes to betting on a point spread.
The typical Asian handicap is set at -0.5. In matches with big favorites the handicap may be -1.5 or even -2.5 goals.
Here’s an example of an Asian handicap bet:
Team A +1.5 (-120) vs. Team B -1.5 (+110)
If you bet on Team B to win, they must win by two or more goals.
A bet on Team A would cash if Team A wins, the match ends in a draw or Team A loses by one goal.
